Window box

This is the view from my computer room. My husband built a beautiful window box, that expands across the front widow of my house. There are three plastic bins inside the box that are easy for me to remove for planting. He attached tiny hoses in holes of the removable bins, which drain into corresponding holes drilled into the bottom of the box. Under the box are three globe box woods. After our gray northern winter, in our new house, it's a colorful view. It's finely starting to feel like our home.

  1. It looks very bright already. I love window boxes, and you're lucky your husband built you custom ones.

  2. I built custom window boxes for my house too. You just can't find long-lasting window boxes that are the correct length for windows, let alone a three-window spread lie I have, or apparently you have.

At Lockwoods I bought all the plants for my window boxes ((five) and baskets eight). Plus a couple oddities for my daughter's Harry Potter garden. I go there before the crowds on Friday afternoon.

  3. It looks (and sounds) lovely! I wish I had window boxes...it reminds me of Europe. We lived in Germany for 5 yrs in the '80s when my husband was in the Army. There were window boxes everywhere, it looked so quaint. You have a beautiful blog, Claudia;-)

  4. I love your new house! I's so charming and the cottage style you love would look so beautiful. Or really any style for that matter. Your window boxes are fantastic! Good luck with your new planting!
