A drop in the perennial bucket

Today I went to the "candy store," oh you know what I mean, that garden center with the prettier, bigger, and more unusual plants ($$$). I bought 18 plants. I went to http://www.lockwoodsgreenhouses.com I got everybody into the ground. It looks like a drop in the bucket.
We even had time to get the deer fencing put up around the veggie bins. I attached tree branches every which way across the top, to try to keep the birds out. I saw it on a British blog.

  1. Hi Claudia! I came here following your comment on MyScretGarden to thank you for your kind words. I appreciate it very much.
I like what you've done in your garden. Both paths on the pictures above look good. As for the birds, I read about using the old CDs that shine and scare them. I used to attach special shiny ribbons to my berry bushes. Good luck!

  2. I was at Lockwoods today. They're gearing up for a VERY busy weekend.

  3. I like the shape of your planting areas. I'd like to leave less grass for my husband to mow, too, but he always resists my efforts.

  4. I understand how 18 plants might not seem like much, especially with a new garden...but they will be gorgeous as they grow;-) I'm sure you'll be visiting that nursery again soon!
Your path looks very nice! I'm really enjoying your blog!

  5. Having a fresh bed to plant is a lot of fun. At first the plants do seem to disappear into it. I like imagining how it will look as it fills in. The paths at the side and to the back look good.

  6. Hi Claudia,
I can tell that your new garden is growing into a very beautiful one. I especially like the path, it's stylish (not sure if this is a good word to describe a garden, but that's the word first came to mind :)
